Check the counseling eligibility details before applying
ACC’s current counseling page lists enrollment, age eighteen or older, physical presence in Texas and not currently receiving counseling from an outside counselor among its eligibility conditions. It offers short-term counseling in person at selected campuses and virtually.
If you already receive therapy elsewhere, describe that situation to ACC and ask which resources you can use; do not cancel established appointments merely to fit a form. For an enrollment gap, ask whether the intersession rules apply to you. Give the dates your current classes end and next classes start so staff can answer the actual eligibility question.

Follow the request through your ACC email
ACC’s FAQ describes an appointment-based counseling process and follow-up through the student’s official ACC email. A submitted form needs a response and scheduling step before you should treat a visit as booked.
Check the contact details on the request, then watch the account the office says it will use. Reply to any scheduling questions and keep the intake instructions with the appointment confirmation. If you cannot access your student email, resolve that access issue and notify the counseling team. Repeatedly submitting the form without reading the response may leave the same scheduling question unanswered.

Use the separate route for a medication-related question
ACC Mental Health Counseling says it does not provide prescriptions or medication management. The college’s main page separately presents Amplify, a partnership with UT Health Austin for people ages sixteen to twenty-nine, and links its own getting-started form.
If that program appears relevant, use the Amplify entry point to ask about eligibility and intake. State whether you want an initial assessment or are asking about transferring existing care. Ask which records the team wants and how to send them. An ACC counseling appointment, a referral suggestion and an Amplify appointment are separate steps; none establishes an individual prescribing decision.

Identify which program is answering you
ACC also lists TimelyCare as a virtual support option. Its campus counseling FAQ describes a limited course of counseling and community referrals for needs outside that service. Keep the program name visible in your notes when you use more than one resource.
Ask who handles scheduling, where to send a records request and which office should receive a question about an existing appointment. If you are an ACC student employee, consult the FAQ’s employment-specific guidance before selecting a campus counselor. For a referral outside ACC, independently confirm the new office’s fees, eligibility and appointment format rather than transferring assumptions from a college service.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Can I continue ACC counseling between semesters?
ACC’s FAQ provides intersession conditions tied to enrollment for the following semester and tuition or approved payment arrangements. Ask the counseling team to confirm how those conditions apply to your dates rather than assuming that last semester’s enrollment is enough.

Does the ACC counseling request form also book an Amplify visit?
The college lists separate entry points. Use the Amplify getting-started link for an Amplify intake question and the ACC counseling form for campus counseling. Ask the relevant team to confirm that your request reached the intended program.
