Start with the current Kate Marmion Counseling Center instructions
The center’s current homepage identifies its location as Student Center 126 and provides the counseling request route. It offers consultations, short-term counseling and referrals to currently enrolled students without an additional counseling charge.
Use that page when choosing the office to visit, rather than relying on an older saved campus directory. Ask how your initial appointment will be confirmed. If you already receive care elsewhere, tell the counselor whether you are seeking additional support, help with a referral or a transition of care. These requests may require different next steps.

Resolve summer eligibility before spring ends
TAMIU’s counseling-process page describes different semester session allowances. It also explains a possible summer bridge fee for students enrolled in the preceding spring and upcoming fall who are not taking summer classes.
Ask the center whether your enrollment qualifies, what the current fee is and which appointments you can arrange. Do this before your final spring visit. If the campus route will not cover your needs, ask for help with another option and confirm that option’s intake separately. Eligibility for a bridge arrangement is not an appointment confirmation.

Select TAMIU in TELUS and ask for your preferred language
TAMIU’s Talk About It program uses TELUS. The setup instructions specify Texas A&M International University as the institution. Its page describes immediate chat or phone support, scheduled short-term counseling and several language options, including Spanish and English.
When setting up a scheduled service, state your preferred language and confirm the option available. If you travel outside Texas or the United States, tell the program where you will be before the appointment. Ask the program to confirm service eligibility at that location rather than assuming app access means every appointment type remains available.
Keep medical questions with Student Health or your treating clinician
TAMIU Student Health lists clinician appointments, medical referrals and prescriptions when ordered by its physician or nurse practitioner. Students are asked to schedule before visiting. That general description does not establish a dedicated psychiatry service or acceptance of every medication care request.
Explain the particular question when contacting Student Health: an assessment, continuity with an existing prescriber or finding the appropriate specialist. Ask whether an appointment there is suitable and what records are needed. A counseling intake and a medical visit remain separate bookings, even when both contribute to your overall care.

Use the counseling portal for follow-up and plan a records request
Active counseling clients can use TAMIU’s Medicat portal for messages and reminders. The counseling-process page separately describes written records requests and a follow-up appointment to review the request.
Before moving to another practice, ask which records that office needs and request the relevant material through the center’s current process. Verify the receiving destination and track whether the information arrived. Keep administrative details such as appointment dates separate from clinical questions that belong in the approved patient communication channel.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
