Use the dedicated scheduling instructions for a first consultation
A&M–San Antonio’s appointment page offers an online option for new-client consultations, along with phone and in-person scheduling. It publishes specific hours when the portal can be used.
Start from that dedicated page and check the current instructions. Have your class and work commitments available before choosing a time. If the portal cannot be used, ask the office about the phone or in-person route. The portal’s operating hours describe when to access the system; they do not establish that an appointment is available at the time you want.
Contact the office for an ongoing appointment
The appointment page directs ongoing clients to schedule by phone or in person. Its initial-consultation online option is specifically labeled for new clients.
If you have already begun counseling, explain that you are arranging the next visit. Keep the appointment type in the request rather than starting another new-client consultation to find a convenient time. If you are returning after a gap and do not know which category applies, ask staff to identify the correct route. Confirm which appointment has been arranged before changing any existing calendar entry.
Name case management when the task is finding a resource
The same page gives case management its own instructions and describes help with community resources, including medication-care referrals.
Tell the office which connection you are trying to make and what remains unresolved. For example, you may need the name of an appropriate service or help understanding whom to contact after a referral. Ask whether you are booking case management or a counseling consultation. If another practice is suggested, confirm its intake process directly; a campus referral does not establish that the receiving office has scheduled a visit.
Confirm the first visit and any later telehealth arrangement
The appointment page places initial visits in Madla 120 and allows requests for ongoing telehealth. The FAQ also describes a room students can ask to reserve for tele-counseling.
Check the format in your confirmation and plan how you will attend. If you need a private place for a later virtual visit, ask how room reservations work and whether a room can be arranged for that particular time. Before travel, tell the service where you would attend remotely and ask what is possible. Do not treat a general telehealth description as approval of a specific arrangement.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Confirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
What if the FAQ and scheduling page give different booking instructions?
Use the dedicated appointment page to identify your request, then ask the office to resolve any conflicting instruction. Keep its answer with your appointment details rather than assuming another page has settled the question.

Does requesting a referral book an outside appointment?
Check the next action with case management and the receiving office. Record who will make contact, any paperwork requested and whether a visit has actually been confirmed.
