Use the new-student intake materials for an initial request
Texas Southmost’s Accessibility Resources page links a new-student intake packet and identifies supporting documentation. The 2026–2027 catalog describes a Request for Services form, documentation and an intake meeting.
Ask the office which materials apply when you have not previously been approved, even if you have attended the college for several terms. Identify what records you already have and request guidance about anything missing. Give the college’s actual instructions to the professional completing a document, and confirm how to return it. An academic-advising conversation alone does not establish that this accessibility file is ready for review.

Plan for the initial meeting and state your format preference
The catalog asks students to plan at least an hour for the initial accessibility intake. It describes in-person, Zoom or phone service based on student preference.
When arranging the meeting, explain the format you can use and ask staff to confirm the details. Set aside the required time rather than placing the intake between classes without enough room in your schedule. Prepare questions about the course activities you need help accessing and the documents under review. For a remote meeting, ask how to join; for an office meeting, verify the location attached to your appointment.

Request continuation in writing for the new term
The catalog says continuing approved accommodations requires a written request for the current term. The resource page separately links a Returning Student Accommodation Form.
Before the next term, review your course schedule and ask how to submit the continuation request. Tell the office about changes that may affect implementation. Confirm receipt and ask what you should expect next, including any instructions for working with instructors. Keep a reminder with registration so a previous approval is not mistaken for completion of the current term’s request. If you are uncertain which term your request covers, resolve that with the office.

Arrange a test or counseling visit through its own route
The accessibility page links an Assistive Technology Lab test request separately. The counseling page gives a phone route for counseling intake.
If you need to take a particular exam with approved arrangements, ask how the lab request connects to your class and test date. If you also want counseling, state that as a separate appointment request. Track the academic-access decision, the test arrangement and the counseling confirmation independently. Each may have a different unfinished step, and submitting the term renewal should not be treated as booking an exam or a clinical conversation.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Confirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Do my approved Texas Southmost accommodations continue without a new request?
The catalog requires written notice that you need the services for the current term. Ask the office how to complete that continuation request.

Is an accommodation renewal the same as reserving a test at the lab?
Treat the lab request as a separate task. Ask the office how to arrange the particular exam after confirming the status of your accommodations.
