Use the counselor entry for your TSTC location
TSTC’s mental-health page covers currently enrolled students across its locations. The contact list groups Abilene, Breckenridge, Brownwood and Sweetwater under West Texas, and pairs Fort Bend County with New Braunfels.
Look up the entry that serves your classes rather than selecting the nearest name on a search result. Include your program location when asking for an appointment. If a move or a change of campus is coming, explain the dates and ask who should handle the request. Check the response for the actual appointment arrangement; a regional assignment alone does not reserve a visit.
Identify yourself as a virtual student when using that contact
TSTC’s Culture of Caring counselor page identifies Shanta Williams as serving North Texas and virtual students. The college’s Student Life page links the Culture of Caring site.
If you attend virtually, say so in your inquiry and explain where you expect to participate. Ask which appointment format and initial steps apply to your circumstances. If you are unsure whether your program falls under the virtual-student entry or a campus entry, ask staff to resolve that routing question first. Keep any revised contact instructions together so a transfer between staff does not leave the request unfinished.

Ask your campus counselor about the next outside contact
TSTC lists outside-agency referrals and tells students to ask the counselor serving their campus for additional resources. Its community directory is organized by region.
When a resource is suggested, clarify the specific service to request and whether you need to contact the organization yourself. Describe any practical obstacle, such as travel from your program location or a work schedule. Check the receiving office’s requirements and charges directly. If it cannot handle the request, return to the campus counselor with the reason, so the next recommendation can address that obstacle rather than repeat the same unsuccessful call.
Clarify the written-records request before a handoff
The counselor contact page directs written records requests to TSTC’s Records Manager and provides a mailing address and records email.
Ask the counseling office how that instruction applies to the particular records you need and what authorization or identity check is required. Specify whether you want a copy yourself or information delivered to a receiving clinician, then confirm the approved method before sending personal material. Keep the appointment request and records request as separate tasks. If another office is waiting, ask how you can check progress and confirm receipt without assuming that a counseling referral automatically moves a file.
Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
