Check enrollment and use the therapist’s appointment route
TVCC’s mental-health page requires current enrollment for its brief counseling service and links a therapist’s scheduler.
Begin with the college page so you select the intended service. If your enrollment status is uncertain or you cannot use the linked route, contact Student Advocacy for guidance. Ask what is needed to complete the appointment request, and check the response for a date and remaining tasks. Avoid treating an account setup or an unanswered request as a confirmed counseling visit.
Confirm the appointment arrangements for the campus you attend
Student Advocacy serves enrolled TVCC students and connects them with campus and community resources.
When arranging counseling, tell the office which campus you attend and ask where and how the visit will take place. Do not infer the appointment location from the college’s general mailing address. Check any travel or schedule conflict before accepting the proposed time, and ask whom to contact if arrangements need to change. Keep the office’s final instructions with the appointment so you have one clear plan.

Ask Resource HQ about a practical barrier to attending
Cardinal Resource HQ describes support across campuses in areas including transportation, housing, child care and food resources.
If one of those issues makes it hard to attend an appointment or remain in class, tell Student Advocacy which obstacle you are trying to resolve. Ask what resource, application or outside contact might apply to you. A category on the resource list does not establish that assistance has been granted. Keep the practical-support request separate from your counseling booking so you know which office or organization still needs a response.

Confirm who handles the next contact after a referral
TVCC says students needing longer-term or more intensive care may be referred to outside providers.
If an outside option is discussed, ask for the receiving contact and whether you should make the first call. Check that practice’s intake process, charges and appointment arrangements directly. If transportation or child care remains an obstacle, bring that fact into the resource conversation rather than assuming the referral resolves it. Ask the offices involved what information they need and how permission for any records transfer should be handled.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Does contacting Resource HQ automatically schedule counseling?
Use the counseling scheduler or ask Student Advocacy to explain the appointment route. Resource HQ’s practical-support role should be tracked separately from a confirmed therapy visit.

Can I ask about transportation if it affects an appointment?
Transportation is among the areas listed by Cardinal Resource HQ. Explain the barrier and ask what options or eligibility steps may apply; a listed category does not guarantee assistance.
