What happens if I miss a dose of my SSRI?

Take it when you remember, unless it's nearly time for the next one. In that case, skip it and carry on. Never double up. One missed dose is a shrug; SSRIs hang around in your system for days.

A few missed days is different: you might feel dizzy or irritable, and the priority becomes restarting, not punishing yourself. If forgetting is a pattern, say so. A different time of day, a phone alarm, or a longer-acting medication usually solves it. Prescribers hear "I keep forgetting" every single week. It's fixable, not shameful.
